1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shop.Solar ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Shop.Solar.

2. Description of Service

Shop.Solar provides solar energy ROI calculators, payback analysis tools, incentive tracking, proposal generation, CRM tools, and embeddable widgets for homeowners and solar installers. The Service is available through our website at shop.solar and via embeddable widgets on third-party sites.

3. Accounts & Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
  • Maintain the security of your password and account credentials.
  • Promptly update your information if it changes.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

4.1. Free Tier: Certain features of the Service are available at no cost with usage limits. Free tier access may be modified or discontinued at our discretion.

4.2. Paid Plans: Paid subscription plans provide additional features and higher usage limits. Pricing and plan details are displayed on our subscription page at the time of purchase.

4.3. Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

4.4. Recurring Billing: Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period.

4.5. Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.

4.6. Price Changes: We may adjust pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or connected networks.
  • Scrape, data-mine, or collect data from the Service by automated means without permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
  • Use the embeddable widget API keys for purposes other than displaying the widget on authorized domains.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, text, graphics, logos, and data compilations, is owned by Shop.Solar and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Content you generate through the Service (such as proposals and reports) is yours to use for your business purposes. However, we retain the right to use aggregated, anonymized data to improve the Service.

7. Calculator & Data Accuracy

The ROI calculations, payback estimates, incentive data, and other figures provided by the Service are estimates for informational purposes only. They are based on publicly available data, user inputs, and third-party APIs (including the Rewiring America API). Actual results will vary based on local utility rates, net metering policies, system performance, weather, installation quality, and other factors.

Shop.Solar does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any calculation, incentive data, or estimate. The Service does not constitute financial, legal, or professional advice.

8. Embeddable Widgets & API Usage

Installer accounts may embed Shop.Solar widgets on their own websites using provided API keys. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your API keys confidential and configuring allowed origins correctly.
  • Ensuring your use of the widget complies with applicable laws, including privacy regulations.
  • Not modifying, reselling, or redistributing the widget code.

We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are misused or that violate these Terms.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including the Rewiring America API, Stripe for payment processing, and analytics providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOP.SOLAR AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service.
  • Any inaccuracy in ROI calculations, incentive data, or other estimates.
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
  • Actions or content of any third party on or related to the Service.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shop.Solar and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, disclaimers, and indemnification survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
